The PrOSA project, carried out by Arbetsvetenskap at Luleå University of Technology and SSAB in Luleå, aimed to integrate organizational and social work environment (OSA) in the early planning and design process in the steel and metal industry. The project has been financed by Vinnova and has been part of the strategic innovation program Metallic Materials. The main goal of the project has been to develop a tool that can make it easier for companies in the metal industry to consider OSA issues at an early stage. This is to create more attractive, equal and safe workplaces, which has clear implications for the industry's attractiveness and ability to recruit labor. The project has been carried out in five work packages: (1) mapping of existing models and methods for OSA, (2) studies of completed and (3) ongoing projects, (4) development of the OSA tool and finally (5) summary and generalization. The project has delivered a tool, the PrOSA control, which helps to make OSA issues visible and concrete at an early stage, making it easier for the project groups running the metal industry's investment projects to identify and manage potential OSA-related work environment problems before they become real problems.
