ToughSteel is a European project funded by the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) programme. The main aim of ToughSteel is the dissemination and valorisation of fracture toughness as a material property to rationalise crack-related problems in Advanced High Strength Steels.
In this industrial workshop, we aim to present the expected outcomes of the ToughSteel project for the steel industry and delve into the latest research approaches in the characterization and modelling of advanced mechanical properties such as fracture resistance and crashworthiness in high performance metals. This event will also highlight give voice to the industry by presenting use cases in which fracture toughness is applied successfully to assess the formability and structural performance of high strength metal components.
