Historical Metallurgy Group
The Historical Metallurgy Group has an interdisciplinary composition, with representatives of different disciplines, both technical and humanistic, as well as representatives of companies, institutions and the higher education sector. Activities are focused on archaeological and historical research as well as the preservation of heritage sites relating to all types of working of iron and metals, although with the accent on the development of the iron industry. Activities concern all time periods and are Nordic in their focus.
The Group
- promotes historical research concerning mining and metallurgy and its products
- facilitates collaboration between different researchers in relevant problems
- submits proposals and prioritises important information
- facilitates rapid publication of, and information about, results secured
