Research

Swedish steel has achieved its pre-eminent reputation thanks to large and long-term investments in research and development.

A total of around SEK 1 billion is invested each year in steel research in Sweden.

The major part of this research is carried out within the different steel companies. About 10-15%, however, is carried out as joint Nordic research within Jernkontoret’s technical areas.

This joint research is unique of its kind – it forms a large network and is an effective instrument for disseminating results for practical application within the steel companies.
