The successes that have been recorded by the Swedish steel industry rest on the capacity to produce advanced steel. To this end, there is a requirement for Masters of Science in Engineering and researchers with specialist knowledge of e.g. materials science or steel industry processes. Jernkontoret actively works to stimulate interest in higher education programmes that meet the requirements of the steel industry.
We offer, for example, university bursaries to engineering students on two very important MSc engineering programmes. We also arrange different types of activities for young people e.g. visit days at universities – to which teachers also are invited.
