Hot Isostatic Pressing technology at the forefront of research at the HIP ’14 conference in Stockholm

The 11th International Conference of Hot Isostatic Pressing 2014 in Stockholm on June 9–13 will bring together 160 specialists from 20 nations. They are experts in trends, developments and innovations in three areas: oil & gas, power generation and aerospace. Opening session will take place on June 10th at 08:30.

The conference is organised by the Swedish Steel Producers´ Association, Jernkontoret, on behalf of The International HIP Committee (IHC).

A wide range of state-of the art presentations with speakers from Total, GE Oil & Gas, Areva, Rolls Royce, SNECMA, Aerojet Rocketdyne and IHI Corp.

– The International HIP Committee has been putting on its triennial conference on hot isostatic pressing (HIP) since 1993. The only technical conference dedicated solely to HIP, this year’s event promises to be one of the best. The conference organizers have assembled a fantastic event and the program committee has put together an excellent program with end user companies involved to a greater degree than ever before, says Stephen J. Mashl, Chairman of IHC.

The conference will cover topics such as material development, production of near net shape (NNS) components, part design and process modelling. Aspects related to powder metallurgy processing, diffusion bonding and part densification will also be included.

Hot Isostatic Pressing, HIP, technology has established itself in the past decades as a competitive and proven manufacturing process for the production of complex and massive Near Net Shape components made from a wide range of metals. HIP technology positions as a technology complementary to other Net shape technologies such as Additive Manufacturing and MIM.

The conference will take place at Clarion Hotel Sign, Östra Järnvägsgatan 35 in Stockholm.

The press is welcome to attend the conference and full proceedings will be distributed at the conference. If you wish to attend please inform us by email to office@jernkontoret.se.
